The Wild Boar Mountain Bike Maps are a handy A4 size and are extremely TOUGH AND WATERPROOF
They are great for not only doing the suggested routes but for then tailoring future rides to your requirements.
What is shown on the maps
The maps have been designed so that you can get an idea of what the area is like for mountain biking before actually getting out there.

Suggested Mountain Bike Routes
These are arrowed on the map and text descriptions are also included.
Surface Descriptions
These are annotated on the map and give an indication of what the off road surface is like - eg loose stones, rocky, cobbles, grass ...
Gradings for Off-Roads
Rookies Delight - generally requiring no special technical skills
Beartrap - getting a bit harder now. Surfaces more uneven. The name beartrap is from mountain bike slang referring to the pedal mark scars that are left on your shin when your foot suddenly leaves the pedal!
Technical - rough and difficult
Uphill Indicator
Grades for the uphills. It is subjective but it gives an indication of what is in store!
