The publication is A4 (210 x 297mm) in size and is printed on extremely tough, waterproof paper.
It includes two maps, each showing a route (see below left) and includes text directions and gradient profiles.
This area is between Hayfield and Marple (part of it lies in the Peak District National Park). It is a great area for those looking to improve their mountain biking skills through to experienced mountain bikers as it offers such varied sections. We have two titles: area 'Mellor Magic' is a great introduction to the area and 'Mellor Mania' offers a more intense experience.
We have Mellor Magic and Mellro Mania available as a Bundle Offer.
The Mountain Bike Routes
This is a route specific map and is designed so that route directions and map are on the same side:
14.5 miles / 23km
An intense mountain bike ride that’s aimed at maximising the thrills in the area. Technical and fast downhills plus enough climbing to know you've been on a ride.
16 miles / 26km
A tough mountain bike route that will make you work for the rewards of fine scenery and varied downhills.
Where to Start
The route descriptions start at the Roman Lakes Leisure Park (free car park) on the outskirts of the eastern side of Marple, the access is via Faywood Drive (off Arkwright Road) which leads onto the pot holed Lakes Road. There are signposts from the junction of Faywood Drive and Arkwright Road.
