The publication is A4 (210 x 297mm) in size and is printed on extremely tough, waterproof paper.
It includes two maps, each showing a specific route and includes text directions and gradient profiles.
This area is between Hayfield and Marple (part of it lies in the Peak District National Park). It is a great area for those looking to improve their mountain biking skills through to experienced mountain bikers as it offers such varied sections. We have two titles: area 'Mellor Magic' is a great introduction to the area and 'Mellor Mania' offers a more intense experience.
We have Mellor Magic and Mellor Mania available as a Bundle Offer.
The Mountain Bike Routes
This is a route specific map and is designed so that route directions and map are on the same side:
Brake Sweat
11 miles / 18km
A great introduction to mountain biking and also the Mellor area, its not too long but it includes such variety. There are some technical sections but these are quite short so if you're just starting out and don't feel confident about tackling them it's no problem to hope off and walk down. Its a hilly bike route so you will need to be reasonably fit or take your time. If you are struggling then you can use the map to shorten the route.
Bike Buzz
14 miles / 22km
A mountain bike route of great contrast from low lying trails to a high moorland pass. You'll do a fair bit of climbing but then you'll get your rewards with some great scenery and some lovely downhills that aren't too technical.
