The publication is A4 (210 x 297mm) in size and is printed on extremely tough, waterproof paper.
On one side is the map and on the other side are text descriptions of the suggested routes plus miscellaneous information.
It is close to Macclesfield and is also convenient from South Manchester (being about 30 minutes drive from Stockport to Whaley Bridge).
The area consists of varied off-road tracks and offers some fairly demanding as well as some easier mountain biking. Beginners and families can opt for a tour around Fernilee Reservoir and the woods to the west. Experienced mountain bikers can spend a few hours on a big loop of the area.

Fernilee Flyer
Depending on a choice of starts either 3.5, 4.5 or 6.5 miles
Around Fernilee Reservoir and back in the forest. One for the kids (albeit with adult supervision) or beginners. There is a short steep climb, which can always be walked up, and a couple of short steep descents. Children vary in abilities but they will need to be competent at cycling with road sense (it has a short road section) and some stamina for the undulating forest track.

Hilly Goyt's Gruff

A great mountain bike route in and around Goyt Valley. Lots of climbs, descents and varied off-road sections, a couple of fords if your feeling brave (use the bridges otherwise) and weather permitting great views! This should get those muscles aching.
