The Mountain Bike Routes
Use the map to make up your own routes or follow our own circular mountain bike route suggestions which are arrowed on the map and described on the other side.
Route names:
Fernilee Flyer
Depending on a choice of starts either 3.5, 4.5 or 6.5 miles
Around Fernilee Reservoir and back in the forest. One for the kids (albeit with adult supervision) or beginners. There is a short steep climb, which can always be walked up, and a couple of short steep descents. Children vary in abilities but they will need to be competent at cycling with road sense (it has a short road section) and some stamina for the undulating forest track.
Tax All Folks!
7 miles
A ride to the north of the valley. Hilly as you venture out of the valley
Hilly Goyt's Gruff
16 miles
A great mountain bike route in and around Goyt Valley. Lots of climbs, descents and varied off-road sections, a couple of fords if your feeling brave (use the bridges otherwise) and weather permitting great views! This should get those muscles aching.
Use the map to alter the routes as required.
