Route 1. Hayfield

Distance: 26km

A compact route, strenuous even for the fit rider. Includes some great downhills.

Route 2. Edale

Distance: 23km

A tough route with surfaces that are generally well rutted and rocky.

Route 3. Glossop

Distance: 61km

The longest route in the book and probably the toughest! Great variety of terrain some requiring good technique.

Route 4. Ladybower

Distance: 29km

A very scenic route with good challenges, up and down!

Route 5. Stanage

Distance: 37km

Great, varied ride, quite hilly and tough.

Route 6. Castleton

Distance: 14km

A short ride which is mainly well drained, on hard tracks, grass and roads, with a final technical descent down a narrow rocky limestone dale.

Route 7. Bradwell

Distance: 10km

Wide tracks, fast descents and short steep climbs.

Route 8. Buxton

Distance: 24km

Can get a bit boggy but generally an all-weather ride. Includes some bumpy descents.

Route 9. Chelmorton

Distance: 24km

Steep sides scenic dales, gravel tracks, green roads, bridleways, stretches of walled lanes and complex patterns of walled fields makes for a very varied ride.

Route 10. Baslow

Distance: 35km

An excellent all weather route, also a good route for cafe stops!

Route 11. Linacre

Distance: 28km

A fun and challenging ride with lots of ups and downs.

Route 12. Chatsworth

Distance: 31km

A route that is easy to shorten if required. Mostly the landscape is rolling parkland, limestone farmland, gtitstone moor or deciduous woodland with plenty of hills.

Route 13. Middleton by Youlgreave

Distance: 24km

Technically an easy route (nothing too bumpy) with a few hills thrown in for good measure.

Route 14. Darley Bridge

Distance: 29km

Gravel and soil tracks, some of them and rocky, with field and limestone dales as well.

Route 15. Ashover

Distance: 12km

A very enjoyable short ride. A classic!

16. Manifold

Distance: 29km

This route explores the heavily wooded and dramatic manifold valley and some of the surrounding limestone dotted with sheep farms.

17. Derby North

Distance: 40km

A route that links up some interesting off road sections north of Derby.

18. Ashbourne

Distance: 32km

A mixed terrain route including a fair amount of old railway cinder track and pleasant small roads.

19. Doveridge

Distance: 13km

Muddy tracks and small roads around the rolling farmland on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border.

20. Ticknall, Robin Wood

Distance: 15km

This route makes for a lovely afternoon or evening ride, with tracks mainly of gravel, sand and some mud. Some tracks on ploughed land make heavy going when wet.

Route 21. Ticknall, Repton Shrubs

Distance: 23km

A enjoyable route that is not technical or too hilly.

Route 22. Gradbach

Distance: 37km

An interesting route but involves quite a bit of road work. If you like this area then you may be interested in our Gradbach Mountain Bike Map

 

Route 23. Minninglow

Distance: 13km

Mixed surfaces of grass and hard tracks - very little road work.

Route 24. Bolsover

Distance: 41km

A rolling route through the industrial coalfields of NE Derbyshire.

Route 25. Locko Park

Distance: 19km

A real charmer - gently sauntering through wooded parkland, hedged green lanes and across open fields.

Route 26. Bakewell & Monyash

Distance: 42km

A hilly and varied route, skirting and crossing limestone dales and farmland.

Route 27. Matlock & Carsington

Distance: 58km

A big day ride for fit riders - on generally good surfaces. Challenging with lots of variety.

Route 28. Churnet Valley

Distance: 45km

A lovely wooded route, in summer very green, in winter maybe a bit muddy in places.

Route 29. Belper

Distance: 20km

This medium/short route around Belper does not feel in most parts at all urban. There are some high up sections with views of the surrounding countryside, and a few fun rocky sections.
